Sorry I've been a little sporadic with my posts--yesterday was my 'Friday' at work, so trying to get things finished up before I was off for a couple days took priority. And today I've been busy cleaning and setting up for my Fall Open House tomorrow, but thought I'd take a quick break and share those banners I had promised to show you the other day!! First of all, there was a version of this banner that was shared at Convention. Not necessarily colors I would normally put together, but one important thing I've learned in creating projects is that while it might not be 'my' style, it could quite easily be someone else's style, so it should be shared!!
And next up, the digital version of the Halloween Build A Banner set that's in the Holiday Catalog.
So much fun to put that one together, but one of my favorites is this last one, using Bermuda Bay & Baked Brown Sugar. LOVE how it turned out!!
I'm looking forward to getting the 'real-life' Build A Banner set, but in the meantime, I love how quick/easy these are to create in My Digital Studio!!
You can check out all of the great Stampin' Up! products available now by visiting my online store!!
Happy Stamping & I look forward to seeing many of you at my Fall Open House tomorrow--from 5-9:PM!

Had a GREAT demonstrator meeting this morning!! And I did get my other banners completed, so will post those for you to see tomorrow. I got some COOL swap samples as well, so I know I'll be posting some more 'real life to digital' (should I just start my own acronym and start calling them RLTD?!) cards this next week.
Well, Stampin' Up! came out with another NEW kit this week--the Everyday Occasions Cardmaking Kit. Here are some details:
Why go to the store when a birthday, graduation, wedding, or even a time for expressing gratitude comes up? The Everyday Occasions Cardmaking Kit puts cards for all of those events right at your fingertips. And best of all, they’ll be handmade!
The kit contains everything you need (minus adhesive and scissors) to create 20 beautiful cards for almost any occasion, and it comes with a beautiful box to store your cards in:
* Cardstock and envelopes for 20 cards
* Twine, buttons & clips
* Pre-cut paper embellishments
* Mini ink pads (Stampin’ Spots)
* Seven-piece Occasions Stamp Set & clear stamp block
* Full color Tips & Tricks brochure for making the cards
* A cool, storable, giftable box
This kit it PERFECT for those that are busy and on-the-go, but want to still have a handmade card--you have all of the stamps, paper & embellishments. I'll have a flier showing more of the options of the kit at my Open House on Tuesday, but you can also check it out in my online store--item 134797.

Real Life to Digital Halloween
For some reason I have Halloween on the brain already. Normally I get my house decorated for the holiday as soon as the 1st of the month hits, but I'll be a tad behind on that this year as I'm doing my Fall Open House that day, and thought that putting the house in chaos to get it decorated in time for that event 'might' be pushing it a bit!!
I decided to have a bit of fun using the digital versions of 'Toil & Trouble' & 'Halloween Bash' (that are in the Holiday catalog) to create these fun cards (which I received in swaps at Convention this summer).
First up, Toil & Trouble . . .
I just LOVE the angled DSP on this card, so that was one of my biggest challenges, but once I got the pennants placed, this card came together really quick. Also, a quick note on the bat--it's created using the butterfly punch, then the small circle punch on the bottom of the wings. HOW cool is that?!?! And my digital re-creation:
And then I had another card using this same set.
The green, purple & orange background was created by sliding the ink pad across the paper. I probably could have found something similar in my digital content, but decided to use a little creative license and used some of the splatters instead.
And this card using Halloween Bash! The challenges on here were to create a DSP that had the chevron/embossed look & the Washi tape.
What do you think?!
The Washi tape is probably my favorite element on this card. I used the skull & crossbones DSP from Witches' Brew (which is in Pumpkin Pie) and re-colored it to Basic Black. Then, I also created a 'double torn edge' punch that I filled with the re-colored DSP and lowered the opacity a little. LOVE it!!
Remember, you can try My Digital Studio for FREE for 30 days when you visit my online store & download it there!!

Photopolymer Halloween Set
O.K., so a quick update on the banner I showed yesterday--I'm TOTALLY hooked on creating these things in My Digital Studio!! Normally, I can print things off on my home computer, but for some reason, it decided to be difficult on me as I was working on more of them, and it only printed off four out of the six panels I was working on, so I needed to send them off for local professional printing. I'll have them on Friday, so that I'll be able to show them on Saturday, and I'll post photos after that as well!!
I just found out yesterday that there is a new update for My Digital Studio available--you can now customize your toolbar in the program!! I am SOOOOOOO excited about this update/option!! It makes using MDS even more versatile! A while back the powers-that-be in MDS-land removed a lot of the 'clutter' at the top of the screen. I understand why they did it, but in the process, they took away a lot of the shortcut keys that those of us using the program relied on! So this update is a much hoped-for addition!
Guess what?! There's ANOTHER new Photopolymer stamp set available--this time it's a Halloween themed one! Go ahead and say, "Bite me!" all you want--Stampin' Up!'s newest photopolymer stamp
set gives you permission. With creepy splotches, spiders, and webs, this set will help you go all out on Halloween projects or party
favors. This set comes with ten images and I know I'll be putting this one on my next order!!

Build A Banner--Family
I have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator meeting coming up this weekend, and one of the challenges that our phenomenal upline set for us is to use any of the products in the current holiday catalog to create a home decor piece. I have a lot of those products on my 'to be ordered' list, but have not actually purchased them yet. BUT, I do have the digital versions in My Digital Studio, so I decided to play around with those to create a banner. I did some browsing and decided to go with a simple phrase--"family"--and I also knew I'd use my Autumn Accents die (& Big Shot) with the Sweater Weather Designer Series Papers. Using the digital version of 'Build A Banner' actually was pretty fun/easy!! I created each 'canvas' on a 5"x7" portrait card, and just printed them that way. I probably could have done two to a sheet, but just printed one per page.
First off, here are the digital 'pieces' that I printed out & trimmed:
I used the coordinating colors from the DSP to pick the colors on each of the banners--Chocolate Chip for the letters; Summer Starfruit, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky & Tangerine Tango for the patterns, coordinated with Very Vanilla.
And close-ups to the finished letters:
And the final/completed project:
I have a couple other banner ideas I'm going to try to come up with in the next couple of days, so may have a few others to share with you then!! You can always check out these great products in my online store!!
Happy Stamping!

Crazy Lazy Sunday
Hey, Folks!
I've had a bit of a busy weekend. I've been helping out with a dance event all weekend up in the Twin Cities--North Star Blues--5th Anniversary Edition! Time to post and access to an internet connection have been somewhat scarce (as evidenced by yesterday's post!!). Plus, I spent yesterday afternoon at a family reunion (from my dad's side of the family)! It's been a super fun weekend, but I'll look forward to crashing at about 6:AM tomorrow morning. And yes, you read that right! We have a late night dance tonight starting around 1:AM and finishing around 4:AM, and then it's getting packed/cleaned up and an hour drive home!! I have to say, though, this weekend has been one of my favorite weekends of the year since the event started in 2009. I get to meet/talk to/dance with phenomenal dancers from all over the U.S., Canada & even Europe!! This year Brother Yusef is playing two of our evening dances--he was GREAT last night, and I look forward to hearing him again tonight!!
So, I just have a cute sign that I TOTALLY copied from Jeanna Bohanon's design on mydigitalstudio.net that I just think is SO fun to share with you today!! Enjoy!
I hope you have a GREAT rest of your Sunday!!

September Paper Pumpkin--Wahoo!!
My September Paper Pumpkin came in the mail--so excited with a busy weekend coming up to just take a little time and find out what came in this month's package!!
I just absolutely love the orange box and blue tissue paper that wraps up your project!
So, this month's project is again a set of four cards--called Wahoo!! You get a Midnight Muse Stampin' Spot, cards, envelopes, buttons, baker's twine, some punch-out embellishments & dimensionals.
Remember, in your starter kit, you got the clear-mount block, so don't forget to go and get that and your adhesive before getting started!!
On an aside, you can just peel off the backings and attach the clear labels to the stamps, BUT, I always tend to have issues with 'extra ink' getting on the edges, so I always grab my Craft & Rubber Scissors to do a quick trim around the outside of the images to help prevent that:
The cards were pretty easy to put together--LOVE the 'file tab' looking image with the chevrons!!
LOVE 'em!! And I love that I'm building a stash of hand-made cards that I can grab if/when I need something!!
You can sign up for Paper Pumpkin today by visiting their web site. Remember it's just $19.95 a month, and you can always choose to 'opt out' if the budget is tight that month!!
Happy Stamping!!

Fall Open House--Save the Date!
My life has slowed down a bit, so I thought that having a Fall Open House where friends can stop by and check out some of the fun new products/projects that Stampin' Up! has come up with would be the PERFECT way to spend the start of October!! So, here are the details:
JUST in case the image isn't coming thru, or it's hard to read, I am having a Fall Open House at my home on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., so mark your calendars now!!
I'm planning to have some of the products featured in the Holiday Catalog available for you to check out, as well as a fun make-n-take. I'll have my laptop up/running for you to try out My Digital Studio. And please, bring a friend!! You never know what additional goodies I might have for you if you do!
With all of the personal stuff I've been dealing with this year, I really have NOT been the best for keeping up with my monthly card workshops, but I'm sure that there are folks that need/want to get their Christmas cards and Occasion card stash built back up, so I will be doing weekend workshops ALMOST every Saturday/Sunday in October to help you get caught back up. If there's interest, I'll consider going in to November on those, but thought I'd start small!
So, what does that mean?! Well, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the following dates (providing you let me know a week in advance), you can come and stamp your Christmas cards! I will have this year's cards (to date) available for you to check out at the Open House. You'll just need to let me know 'which' cards you are interested in doing that week at the time of your RSVP. The dates are:
Saturday, October 5, 2013 (for this one ONLY, it's fine if you sign up on October 1st)
Saturday, October 12, 2013 (RSVP by Saturday October 5, 2013)
Sunday, October 13, 2013 (RSVP by Sunday October 6, 2013)
Saturday, October 19, 2013 (RSVP by Saturday October 12, 2013)
Sunday, October 20, 2013 (RSVP by Sunday, October 13, 2013)
Saturday, October 26, 2013 (RSVP by Saturday, October 19, 2013)
Sunday, October 27, 2013 (RSVP by Sunday, October 20, 2013)
Each 'catch-up' card will be a different holiday card design with matching envelopes. I'll do all of the prep work, and all you'll have to do is come and stamp and complete your cards! The cost of each workshop will be $15. Now, Christmas Cards might not interest everyone, and perhaps you want to get a stash of occasion cards made--well, you have that option, too!! When you sign up for the workshop, you can choose the Occasion Cards instead of the Christmas cards (same price--$15, you'll make five cards of two different designs for 10 total cards, and matching envelopes)!! If BOTH the Christmas and Occasion cards interest you, then you can register for both for only $25! OR, how is this to sweeten the deal?! If you place a $40 order (before shipping/handling/tax), you can make a set of cards for FREE!!
I hope to see many of you at my Fall Open House, and in the meantime, Happy Stamping!!
