O.K.  I must admit, I was SUPER excited to see some of this week's new downloads!!  I just got the actual Just Sayin' stamp set & coordinating framelits in my last order from Stampin' Up!, and have played with them a bit.  Soooooo psyched to see them in their digital form as well!!  I already have in my brain a card using them for my upcoming card workshop at the end of APRIL (which will be a hybrid card--combining traditional and digital elements)!!  AND in case you're wondering, stay tuned, because the March Card Workshop cards will be revealed sometime this weekend!!

February Diva Blog Hop--Occasion Catalog

Wow!!  Haven't these ladies shown some AWESOME cards & projects today?!  If you're joining me from Amy's blog, this is the final stop on the Hop today.  If you just came directly to my blog, you can start at Sue's blog and make your way thru all of them!! 

I think demonstrators & customers alike can relate to always looking forward to the new offerings from Stampin' Up!  There are some catalogs where I might like only a few items, and others where my 'Wish List' consists of almost ALL of the items shown!!   And THEN there are the times I'm SURE I'm not going to like a set/product and then I see ideas made with it and I completely fall in love with it and it becomes a 'must have' for me!!

This catalog is one that I really have liked almost everything, but I tend to separate my list into 'Absolutely/Yes!', 'Maybe' & 'Eh, No--Not Quite Feeling It' categories.  My 'Maybe' list is almost always my longest--many times I like the sets, but need to be convinced that I actually 'need' it by samples that I see.  'Happy Watercolor', the set I'm showing for the Hop today, is one of those sets.  It was one I knew I was likely going to get, but after seeing so many GORGEOUS samples at my last Demonstrator Meeting, it quickly moved from my 'Maybe' list to my 'Gotta-Have-It-Now!' list.  I saw this card online (not remembering where at the moment) and had to re-create it for myself and with all of the great products it uses from the Occasion catalog, I KNEW it was perfect to show you for today's post!

Where Art Thou Inspiration?!

REALLY bad nod to Shakespeare in my title today.  But I thought it was humorous, and hopefully you do as well!  I often get asked where I come up with all of the various ideas I show, and I have to be honest, it's a rarity for me to come up with a total project out of the blue.  More times than not, I see an idea elsewhere, and then adapt it to create the idea I'm going for.  Case in point--one of the cards I'm using for this month's Card Workshop:

This is actually the card I made at a recent Shoebox Swap held by my upline Terri:

I absolutely LOVE my upline/downline meetings, as I'm fortunate enough to be in a group with a LOT of super-talented folks, and their ideas/inspiration always spark my creativity.  Now, I could have left the card 'as is' and it would have made a GREAT Valentine, Wedding or Anniversary card, but since my Workshop is the last Wednesday of the month (still time to RSVP for that until the 15th, by the way!!) and will be held two weeks after Valentine's Day, I decided to make a few adjustments, using Smoky Slate, rather than Cherry Cobbler as my base.  For mine, I decided to add a 'pop' of color--and really, that could be ANY color with the neutral background, but I went with Rich Razzleberry, and added a rhinestone in the center of each flower for a little 'bling'. 

As you can tell by comparing the two, they're basically the exact same card (and both use the same stamp set)!  I love that simply changing out the color can result in a different look/feel to the card.   

I gotta tell you, as part of Sale-A-Bration, I am TOTALLY in LOVE with the Mini Banner Punch and the Banner Blast stamp set.

Now, I can't be satisfied with JUST the 'real life' versions . . . . I obviously needed to create the digital versions, too:

I know it's silly, but I have to say, I get absolutely GIDDY when the digital versions turn out almost as good as the handmade versions!!  And I love that I have them in my stock now, and can print them out if I need something quick (though to be honest, even the handmade version of this card is pretty quick!)!
